I've been offline for 3 months, yet when I return nothing has changed.
What's going on here? This used to be a friendly place to be.

Zoiks! I assume no people (or ferrets) were hurt..? If lightning is
common in your area, you might consider putting a UPS between the
outlet and your new computer, lest it suffer a similar fate. Either
that or get a laptop.. A cheapo £5 surge protector isn't designed to
stop lightning.
note: it's always slow in apf around the holidays

hey hey!
I remember that tagline from years ago when I first discovered this group! I've
been lurking here for about a month, it's a lot quieter now then then, but it's
really nice to see a familiar face!

Yeah, people come and go but I'm still around. Not sure if that's good
or bad... There are other long-time posters here, and probably some
long-time lurkers as well.

Well, SallyMae and Riley are doing well. SallyMae had a stomach bug and
semi-diarrhea, and lost weight.... but now she's doing well. Riley is a
fluffy fuzz butt and still carries his tail upright like a cat.

On the rat front, Laurie went to the Bridge today. She had pnuemonia and
then aspirated a dose of Baytril. Other than the last couple of week she
had a healthy life and lived just over 2 yrs. For those that don't know, a
rat's lifespan is 2 -3 yrs, on average.

The rest of the zoo is fine. With the cold weather having finally moved in,
everyone is acting like youngsters. Only the dogs have become couch
potatoes. The Rabbits have their winter coats and look more like stuffed
toys than living creatures. Piggie and the mice have plumped up for the
winter. The birds... well, I tend to keep the house at about 70 for them...
but they aren't spoiled Wink
